Andrew Gillespie | Academic Director and a Vice Principal at d’Overbroeck’s, Oxford

He is a senior examiner in the UK responsible for developing the national and international Business syllabus and examinations at A-Level and GCSE. Andrew has written many books for students (and teachers) at GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate level; these are used at schools and universities across the country. He is involved in teacher training for teachers throughout the UK and is a government subject expert in Business and Economics. Andrew is an independent schools inspector and has inspected schools in the UK and all over the world.

In this session Andrew will outline the criteria schools inspectors consider in the UK.  He will consider “What makes a great school?” and provide insights from his own experiences visiting schools across the world, focusing particularly on teaching and learning. This should be a thought provoking session enabling you to consider the areas of strength in your own schools and your approach to teaching, as well as identifying areas you might develop.
